Automatic Number Announcement Circuit (ANAC)

Automatic Number Announcement Circuits (ANAC) are telephone numbers that announce the telephone number of the caller. Some ANAC numbers may also record an audio message and playback the message after a few seconds. International ANAC numbers are often used for the following applications:

• to test if a telephone call is carried over routes that pass the originating caller's number to the destination telephone,
• to test if a telephone call is carried via routes with SIM boxes and transit PABXs that pass a local telephone number to the destination telephone, or
• to test routing to a particular country or network.
